Two’s’ variants, the iQOO Z9s and Z9s Pro
were introduced by iQOO today, expanding the Z9 portfolio in India. We had the opportunity to examine
the Z9s Pro’s cameras last month when we were invited to a media briefing in Baku, Azerbaijan. Let’s examine the smartphone now that it has been formally announced.
The iQOO Z9s Pro retail package includes an 80W power adapter, a charging cable, a SIM ejector tool, and a protective case in a black hue.
A 6.77″ curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,392×1,080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits forms the basis of the iQOO Z9s Pro. Along with Widevine L1 compatibility for 1080p video streaming on compatible apps, it includes HD R10, HD R10+, and HLG codecs.

Schott Xensation glass shields the Z9s Pro’s screen, which also supports Wet Touch. Along with having a centered punch-hole for the 16MP selfie camera using Samsung’s S5K3P9SP04-FGX9 sensor, it can show 1.07 billion colors.
A fingerprint scanner that is integrated into the touchscreen also functions well in our experience. For ease of access, it ought to have been positioned a little higher.
A circular flash and two functional cameras—a 50 MP primary (Sony IMX882 with OIS) and an 8 MP ultrawide (OmniVision OV08D10-GA5A-001A, 120° FOV)—are housed in a squircle-shaped camera island around the back.
As suggested by the name, the Luxe Marble edition that we were given has a marble-like pattern on the back cover. Despite being constructed of plastic, it feels like glass.
The other model, Flamboyant Orange, is the first in the Z series to have a vegan leather back. Although it weighs 5g more than the Luxe Marble model (190g), it has a superior grip. Both models, however, are rated IP 64.
In terms of connections and controls, the iQOO Z9s Pro features a USB-C connector at the bottom and a right-side frame with the power button and volume rocker. The speaker grille, primary microphone, and SIM card slot are on either side of it. Above is the secondary microphone. The smartphone lacks a 3.5mm headphone connector but does have dual speakers. However, it does support Hi-Res Audio on earphones.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, which supports up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, powers the iQOO Z9s Pro. It ships with Funtouch OS 14, which is based on Android 14. While iQOO has committed to three years of Android security updates and two years of Android version upgrades, it has not made any commitments regarding how frequently the latter will be released.
A 5,500 mAh battery with 80W charging capabilities powers the entire device. iQOO claims that in 21 minutes, the included 80W adaptor can charge the cell to 50% capacity.
The iQOO Z9s Pro will go on sale in India on August 23 for a starting price of INR24,999 ($300/€270) via iQOO’s
