For a phone from 2024, the selling box is pretty lavish. Together with an eye-catching red USB-C cable and an 80W charging brick, you also get a semi-transparent casing with a frosted finish and the Nubia image.
The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen on the front of the Z60S Pro is very large, sporting a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness rating of 1,200 nits.
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 AC chipset, also referred to as the “for Galaxy edition,” which has an overclocked primary CPU core and GPU, is included in the remaining specifications. It comes with 1TB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM. A 5,100 MAh battery is also included, and we’ll be sure to thoroughly evaluate its longevity.
Nubia’s Z60S Pro, which starts at $569/€669/£569 ($70/€70/£70 off with code:PRO70), is an intriguing middle option. In the upcoming weeks, keep a watch on our homepage to see if it can genuinely live up to the claims made on its specs sheet.
Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version
The big change on the Z60 Ultra Leading Version is the higher binned Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip featuring a prime Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.4GHz and boosted 1GHz GPU. Nubia claims the upgraded SoC will help the Z60 Ultra excel at AI tasks with the ability to run on-device AI models with up to ten billion parameters.
The same 6.8-inch AMOLED (FHD+ 120Hz) dominates the front, with an improved algorithm for sharper selfies and an under-display camera (UDC) for the 12MP selfie camera.
The NeoVision AI Photography System 2.0 brings the AI improvements to the cameras. Similar hardware is used by Nubia in the ordinary Z60 Ultra, but the 35mm main shooter has been upgraded with a new IMX906 sensor. The 64MP periscope (85mm) gains further AI telephoto capabilities, while the 18mm ultrawide lens maintains its 50MP resolution and gains a wider aperture.
Android 14 covers the software front, with Nubia’s MyOS 14 coming in first. The battery still has an 80W wired charger and 6,000 mAh capacity.
The price of the Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version, which is available in Black and Silver, is $649/€729/£649. Open sales from Nubia’s official website are set to commence on August 12, with pre-orders opening today.
Z60S Pro from Nubia
The Z60S Pro is the straight replacement for the Z50S Pro from the previous year. It has a bigger sensor on the main 35mm camera, but other than that, it is identical in terms of characteristics. Along with these new AI features, Nubia is also introducing a 65:24 ultra-wide cinema format, a star sky algorithm, and Magic Eraser.
The 6.8-inch AMOLED (FHD+ 120Hz) and the 8MP telephoto and 50MP ultrawide lenses are both retained. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is older than the Z60S Pro, is mated to a 1TB hard drive and up to 16GB of RAM. A 5,100 mAh battery with 80W charging is also included.
